የምስራቅ እና የአፍሪካ ቀንድ ሀገራት ቀጣናዊ የሚኒስትሮች ፎረም አባል ሀገራት በሰራተኛና ፍልሰት አስተዳደር ዙሪያ የሚያደርጉትን ትብብር ማላቅ የሚያስችል ውይይት አካሂደናል፡፡ ኢትዮጵያ በሊቀመንበርነት የምትመራው ይህ ፎረም 11 አባል ሀገራትን ያቀፈ ሲሆን በዘርፉ የሚስተዋለውን ህገወጥ የሰራተኞች ፍልሰት ችግርን ለመፍታት ከመዳረሻ ሀገራት፣ ከዘርፉ ተዋናዮች፣ ከሀጉር እና ዓለም አቀፍ ባለድርሻ አካላት ጋር ቀጣይነት ያለው ውይይት እና ምክክር ማድረግ እንደሚገባ ተመልክተናል፡፡ ፍልሰትን ማስተዳደር እንጂ ሙሉ በሙሉ ማስቀረት እንደማይቻል ከግምት በማስገባት በቀጠናው የአስተዳደር ስርዓቱን ለማሻሻል፣ የመዳረሻ ሀገራትን ፍላጎት ያማከለ የሰለጠነና በከፊል የሰለጠነ የሰው ሃይል ልማትን ለማስፋት እንዲሁም የሰራተኛ ፍልሰት እና ልማትን በሚመለከቱ ጉዳዮች ላይ ከሁለትዮሽ ግንኙነት ባለፈ የባለብዙ ወገን የጋራ ትብብር ለመፍጠር ተግባብተናል፡፡ በመድረኩ ላይ ለተገኛችሁ የምስራቅ እና የአፍሪካ ቀንድ እንዲሁም የገልፍ ሀገራት አምባሳደሮች እና የኤምባሲ ተወካዮች ለነበራችሁ እሴት አካይ ተሳትፎ ከልብ የመነጨ ምስጋናዬ ይድረሳችሁ፡፡ የሥራ ባለቤት እርስዎ ነዎት! Ahead of the upcoming 5th High-Level Ministerial Forum slated for 29 February in Addis Ababa, I held a fruitful round-table discussion on labor migration governance that brought together Addis-based Ambassadors of Member States of the East and Horn of Africa Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration (RMFM) and those of GCC and Middle East countries. Chaired by Ethiopia since April 2022, the RMFM consists of 11 member countries. It champions the harmonization of migration policies in the East and Horn of Africa region. In our discussion today, we have heartily discussed the need for continuous dialogue and consultation with countries of destination, regional, continental and international stakeholders to deal with the formidable challenges irregular migration is posing. I am also heartened by the promising gestures from ambassadors of both sides to improve the migration management systems in our regions, to expand the development of skilled and semi-skilled labor force tuned to the needs of countries of destination, and above all to create an inter-regional and multilateral cooperation beyond bilateral relations on issues related to labor migration and development.
